Group FaceTime Is Coming Soon

At Apple’s World Wide Developers Conference on Monday, June 4th, the company revealed that they’re about to take FaceTime to a whole new level.

iOS 12 is set to launch in September, and it’s going to include some game-changing new features. Namely, there will be an update to FaceTime that will allow for 32 users to video chat on one call.

Not only will you be able to chat with a few of your closest friends at once, you can chat with all of them. FaceTime’s integration with iMessage will make this even easier, granting all of your group chats the potential to sort out those weekend plans in no time.

Group FaceTime will feature your friends’ faces on tiles, below which there will be a “roster” of participants on the call. When a participant speaks, their tile will be highlighted, and users can also manually select who they would like to see highlighted.

Lastly, another fun addition will be the ability to use Animoji filters on calls, as well as Apple’s new Memoji–a customizable avatar that’s sure to be hot competition for Bitmoji.
