Give Izzy Bizu’s Single ‘Lights on’ a Listen
Izzy Bizu’s “Lights On” showcases her sultry voice and has a calm beat and reverb that makes for a good slow jam to unwind to.
The London born singer released her first EP Coolbeanz in 2013 after the girl group she belonged to called SoundGirl split earlier that year. She supported Sam Smith on his 2013 tour and even opened for him at one point. In 2014 she signed to Epic Records UK and released her debut album Moment of Madness in 2016. After a few years hiatus, she released “Lights On” as a single from her new 2019 EP Glita out now.
The influence of jazz and classic R&B singers come through in her music. She grew up listening to Whitney Houston, James Brown, and Ella Fitzgerald while looking to Adele and Amy Winehouse for newer influences, helping her to create a fusion of jazz, pop, and soul in her music. Make sure to give her new single a listen, out now on all streaming platforms.
My mother delivered me in Wiesbaden, Germany. I have an African-American father and German mother. I lived there until I reached around age 8 and we moved to Saint Louis, MO. I now attend Truman State University in Kirksville, MO aiming to complete an English major with a Film Studies minor since I enjoy thinking of creative concepts and analyzing film.
