‘Pretty Little Liars’ Star Ashley Benson Launches a Sunglass Collection with Privé Revaux
Ashley Benson just released a sunglass collection this summer that will help you block out the haters.
Ashley Benson is best known for her role as Hanna Marin on the Freeform TV show series, Pretty Little Liars. Ever since the hit show has ended, Ashley has been working on a few projects of her own and one of them includes creating another sunglass collection with Privé Revaux eyewear. Benson is a partner in the affordable eyewear brand along with other celebrities, such as Madelaine Petsch, Jamie Foxx, and Hailee Steinfeld. Ashley released her first collection of sunglasses with Privé Revaux in 2017, and now she has recently dropped her Privé Revaux X Benzo collection. The collection’s name is inspired by her nickname, “Benzo.” Ashley states, “Everyone calls me Benzo and it adds more of a personal touch to it.”
The Benzo collection features three unique frame styles: “Olive,” “Planco,” and “Victoria.” The olive sunglasses are a narrow, modernized version of a cat-eye and it is named after her dog. The “Planco” frames are named after Ashley’s best friend and it has a futuristic straight brow design with side shields. Lastly, the “Victoria” is Ashley’s favorite and is a classic and rectangular style named after Benson’s middle name. In an interview with WWD, Ashley shared her opinion about the different frame styles. Benson states, “The Plancos are different and not everyone can wear them, but that’s my personality, I’m very different and I wanted some of the pairs to be really unique. And the others I would wear everyday.”
Ashley wanted to create a sunglass line that was affordable and appeasing to her large fan base. Ashley stated, “I have fans of all ages, PLL girls are young and no one wants to spend money on sunglasses. You lose them all the time. I’ve lost every one I’ve ever bought and then you just buy them again and you wind up spending so much money.” Benson says that this was her first attempt at design, but hopefully it won’t be her last.
Each style of sunglasses have acetate frames with polarized lenses and anti-blue light optical technology. There is also the Privé Revaux X Benzo logo located on the arm of the sunglasses.
