Ella Mai Celebrates the Anniversary of Her First Studio Album

Ella Mai’s award-winning self-titled album turned one this past weekend on October 12th.

Ella Mai released her first self titled album on October 12th, 2018, after the success of her award-winning platinum single “Boo’d up.” Her hit single was included in her self-titled album,  it featured on Billboard Hot 100 at number five, and won a Grammy for Best R&B Song. Her collection features 16 songs and appearances from H.E.R., John Legend, Chris Brown, and executive produced by DJ Mustard. After the release of her studio album, Ella Mai, the album debuted at number five on the US Billboard 200 and debuted number 18 on the UK Album Charts.


In celebration of the success and anniversary of the album, Ella Mai tweeted her thanks to everyone who has listened to the collection and currently still listening to the record. She also congratulated the album on its first birthday.

Since the release of Ella Mai, Mai has collaborated with other artists on their studio albums and singles. Ella Mai featured on Meek Mill’s record for their song “24/7”, Ed Sheeran with “Put It All On Me, and recently with Mahalia for, “What You Did.”

Hopefully, with the anniversary of Mai’s first studio project, we will see another fantastic album filled with R&B bops. Happy first Anniversary to Ella Mai’s phenomenal first studio album.
