‘The Hitman’s Bodyguard’ Will Be Getting a Sequel
2017’s The Hitman’s Bodyguard will be getting a sequel entitled The Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard.
The action comedy film, directed by Patrick Hughes and written by Brandon and Phillip Murphy, will take place three years after the events of the original film, where bodyguard Michael Bryce continues his friendship with assassin Darius Kincaid. The two go out to a new universal adventure to save Sonia, Darius’s wife.

Filming began on March 2, 2019, in Europe. Filming is also taking place in Italy, Croatia, Slovenia, Bulgaria and the United Kingdom. Though not much information has been given on the film, production for at least Ryan Reynolds, has wrapped up. The film features returning stars Ryan Reynolds, Samuel L. Jackson, Salma Hayek, and newcomers Frank Grillo, Richard E. Grant, Tom Hopper, Antonio Banderas, and Morgan Freeman.

With director Patrick Hughes directing films like Signs in 2008, Red Hill in 2010, The Expendables 3 in 2014, and The Hitman’s Bodyguard, along with the amazing actors and their great on-and-off-screen chemistry, this sequel is one to look forward to.
