Coldplay Announces New Album Through Fan Letters

Atlantic Records

Coldplay announced their eighth studio double album Everyday Life through letters sent to fans and vintage promotion.

This past weekend Coldplay announced their new album Everyday Life by mailing letters to fans. Selected fans received old fashion typewritten letters in their mailboxes announcing the release of Everyday Life on November 22.

In the letter, it states the band has been working on the project for the last 100 years, and the project is considered to be a double album. One half of the project will be called Sunrise and the other, Sunset, which will reflect the band’s opinions on certain things in the world.

In addition to the old-fashion letters, the band has promoted the album through posters in various cities like Berlin, Madrid, Hong Kong, Munich, São Paulo, and Amsterdam. The poster features the band in a vintage black and white photo sitting with German philosopher, Friedrich Nietzsche, and other musicians with the titled date November 22, 1919.

The new album is expected to be different from the band’s past albums like A Head Full of Dreams, Ghost Stories, and Mylo Xyloto. The promotion and the announcement of the album highlight Coldplay’s newest era in their music that reflects a nostalgic, vintage feeling of harmony.

Look out for Coldplay’s newest experimental album, Everyday Life, on November 22nd.
