Idris Elba is saddling up to join Jonathan Majors in The Harder They Fall, an all-black Western feature film for Netflix.

The film, which is co-written by Samuel and Boaz Yakin, revolves around an outlaw, Nat Love, played by Jonathan Majors, who discovers the man who killed his parents, played by Idris Elba, two decades prior is being released from prison. Love then reunites with his gang of misfits to track down his enemy as he seeks revenge for the death of his parents. The project is also giving Jeymes Samuel his feature directorial debut.

Samuel, also known as The Bullitts, is producing the project with Jay-Z, James Lassiter, and Lawrence Bender. Samuel and Jay-Z also previously collaborated on the soundtrack for the hit film The Great Gatsby. Jay-Z will also be writing and producing original music for this film The Harder They Fall. The movie will mark Jay-Z’s latest project as a film producer, as he’s already worked on the miniseries TIME: The Kalief Browder Story in 2017 and Rest in Power: The Trayvon Martin Story in 2018.

Producing alongside Samuel and Jay-Z is James Lassiter, who produced a number of Will Smith films like Hitch, I Am Legend, Hancock, and Seven Pounds. Lassiter also produced the 2005 classic ATL.

There is no word on the rest of the cast or a release date for the project but with this star-studded production team and renowned actor Idris Elba playing the villain, we are all excited for the film’s release.
