Get Ready for ‘The High Note’ Starring Tracee Ellis Ross and Dakota Johnson
The perfect duo we never knew we wanted; Tracee Ellis Ross and Dakota Johnson star alongside one another in up and coming film, The High Note, which is set to release on May 8, just in time for summer.
The film was directed by Nisha Ganatra, who is also known for directing Chutney Popcorn and Cheetah Girls: One World. Judging by how amazing those other movies were, we know we’re definitely in for a treat.
The film will also be starring other known faces, such as Kelvin Harrison Jr., Ice Cube, Zoe Chao, Eddie Izzard, Bill Pullman and Diplo.
The story revolves around that of an all around mega superstar, Grace Davis and her loyal, but under-appreciated and clearly overworked assistant, Maggie who has a lifelong dream of being a music producer. Grace feels that even though she’s a middle-aged singer, she still has a lot left to give, so she announces that she wants to record a new album. In hearing this announcement, Maggie sees her chance to showcase her talents and be recognized as a producer. With a little reluctance, Grace agrees to take her up on her offer and they both begin to flourish.
