The electropop song, produced by Palmistry with help from A. G. Cook and Mechatok, is heavily influenced by UK Garage and Baltimore club music styles. In an interview with Apple Beats 1’s Zane Lowe, Charli XCX described the song as an “ode to her boyfriend” as they are in quarantine together.
How i’m feeling now was announced by Charli XCX on April 6. Her goal is to produce an entire album from scratch during her time in self-isolation.
“It’s gonna be very DIY,” she shared with fans in a public Zoom call in April. “I’m starting from nothing and I’m only gonna be using the tools that I have at my fingertips.” She also unveiled that this will be her “most collaborative project,” asking fans for help with song ideas and artwork.
Don’t miss the release of Charli XCX’s how i’m feeling now on May 15.
