Get Ready for Netflix’s Umbrella Academy Season 2
Netflix officially announced the show is returning on July 31, 2020, in grand style.
Based on the comic book series created by My Chemical Romance‘s Gerard Way and illustrated by Gabriel Bá, Umbrella Academy tells the story of seven superpowered individuals adopted by a billionaire to form a world-saving team.
Scoring a 75% on Rotten Tomatoes and a 7.9 in IMDb, it was renewed by Netflix on April 2, 2019.

To announce its return, the show gathered its main cast to recreate the fan-favorite dance scene from Season 1 from their own homes.
The trailer shows Ellen Page, Tom Hopper, David Castañeda, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Robert Sheehan, Aidan Gallagher, and Justin H. Min dancing around to the sound of “I Think We’re Alone Now” from Tiffany. In true DIY fashion, props were improvised, as the actors used coffee cup plugs, stuffed animals, and other house objects instead.
Fans are still anxiously awaiting more plot details, but for now, it seems they will have to wait until all 10 episodes are released. “Will it be mind-blowing?” Gallagher, who plays time-traveling Number Five/The Boy, shared in his interview with Digital spy regarding Season 2. “Yes, it will be way better than season one.”
While you wait for July 31, you can watch Season 1 of Umbrella Academy now on Netflix.
