Phillipa Soo, Anika Noni Rose, and Others Come Together in Support of the Lower Eastside Girls Club
Several powerful female actresses came together for a benefit panel in support of The Lower Eastside Girls Club this month. The Lower Eastside Girls Club NYC provides young girls with resources to further their education in STEM as well as the arts. The organization will be hosted an event called “Making Moves Making Media” to raise money for the vital programs they provide to inner-city girls during this tough time. The event was hosted by Coyote Ugly alumn Piper Perabo and Girls Club alumn Aicha Cherif.
The panel for the fundraiser was overflowing with strong female leaders including Anika Noni Rose the voice of Princess Tiana Disney’s first and only African American Princess. Other notable women include Purge star Jessica Garza and Drake & Josh comedic genius (among other things) Yvette Nicole Brown. Broadway actress Phillipa Soo, known for her role as Eliza Schuyler in the hit Broadway show Hamilton, was also on the panel and took to her social media platforms to share her excitement.
