The singer-songwriter’s 18-year-old brother was reportedly killed in a car accident on Sunday, August 2.

According to reports, the introspective songwriter’s younger brother, Ryan Breaux, was a victim of a recent car crash. Early Sunday morning, around 1:30 a.m., two teenage boys reportedly passed in a tragic car accident in Thousand Oaks, California.

Cal State Northridge also identified one of the two victims as Ezekial “Zeek” Bishop, a star student-athlete and recent Oaks Christian School graduate.

The Athletic director at Oaks Christian, Mike Izzi, posted a poignant statement on the school’s website addressing Bishop’s death,“We are deeply saddened to hear of Ezekial’s passing…Any loss of life is tragic, and to lose someone so young is absolutely heartbreaking. Our thoughts and prayers are with Ezekial’s family at this extremely difficult time.”

Neither family members nor authorities have confirmed Breaux’s identity; however the 18-year-old’s peers pronounced him dead and flooded social media with touching condolence posts.

The Grammy Award-winning singer, whose real name is Christopher Breaux, has yet to corroborate the facts of the case or issue a public statement addressing the alleged crash or loss of his brother.

We anxiously await answers from authorities and send warmth and strength to Bishop’s family and friends.
