Vocal Powerhouse Mariah Carey Announces her New Album ‘Rarities’ While Effortlessly Slaying her Good Morning America Performance

This is not a drill. Vocal legend Mariah Carey went on Good Morning America and announced her new album titled Rarities, will be released on October 2.

In celebration of her upcoming 30th anniversary in the music industry, Carey has been releasing old classics from her vault as a thank you to her dedicated fan base, the Lambily. Most recently, Carey announced she will be releasing a new album featuring 15 never before heard songs in addition to 17 live versions of previously released music, totaling to 32 tracks.

Carey went on Good Morning America earlier today and performed two classics, “Vision Of Love” and “Close My Eyes” live. During her performance, fans were live-tweeting and raving over Carey’s performance as well as her huge announcements. The Lambily even got #MariahOnGMA to trend in the top five on Twitter within minutes of the performance’s end.

As if that wasn’t exciting enough, Carey has announced the lead single will be released this Friday, August 21 on all streaming platforms. The song is called, “Save The Day” featuring Lauryn Hill, and possibly others.

Before the song is released, Carey will also release her long-awaited memoir titled, “The Meaning Of Mariah Carey,” which is set to be released September 29.
