Jeannie Mai Dedicates Mesmerizing Performance on Disney Night of DWTS to Fiancé Jeezy
On September 28, Dancing with The Stars hosted their fan-favorite Disney Night, where contestant Jeannie Mai and partner Brandon Armstrong mesmerized fans and viewers at home.
Mai and Armstrong gave a magical performance with a Viennese Waltz to the song “Married Life” from the Disney/Pixar animated film Up.

With an elderly aesthetic by the makeup and wardrobe team at DWTS, Mai and Armstrong portrayed the film’s characters as they swayed through the dancefloor. Mai’s beautiful yellow dress floated along with the balloon motifs throughout the stage. The overall performance was magical and heartening, which had fans head over heels.

Judges Carrie Ann Inaba, Derek Hough, and Bruno Tonioli praised the dancers for their performance. Inaba gave Mai a few pointers how to better herself saying she is already “sailing high.”
Tonioli magnified his sentiments towards them by saying, “You really have captured the essence of the film. That was dancing and acting. It was pure storytelling.”
It is safe to say Mai and Anderson deserved their score of 22. However, the recognition came as a shock to Mai, for she ran to the judges and got ahold of the score paddle with the number eight. Mai brought it over to her dance partner and looked at it in awe.

To add on to the magic, when host Tyra Banks asked Mai to send a birthday message to fiancé Jeezy, Mai shared that he was the reason behind choosing this song. She explains how, after meeting her fiancé, the beginning of the film came to mind. She elaborated by saying, “The minute I met J I couldn’t wait to grow old with him happily ever after.” She finished her birthday message by dedicating the dance to him.
On that same day, Mai shared on Instagram how, while trying to surprise her fiancé, he surprised her instead. The rapper surprised Mai by taking out a billboard encouraging people to vote for her.
