Michael B. Jordan Joins LyftUp To Provide Free Rides To Those in Underserved Communities
Michael B. Jordan has joined forces with LyftUp to help those in underprivileged communities get free rides to essential places.
Yesterday, Michael B. Jordan announced his partnership with LyftUp to help provide free rides to those in need. LyftUp is a program that was started by Lyft earlier this year that provides about 1.5 million rides to people all over the country.
LyftUp has different programs that aim to provide free rides for different essential needs. One of their goals to give people access to jobs by providing free transportation to job interviews and job training programs.
Jordan’s organization, Outlier Society Youth Fellowship, was founded in partnership with the Obama Foundation and gives young professionals interested in media, arts, marketing, film production, and branded entertainment the opportunity to gain experience in their field of choice by interning at some of the best entertainment companies. The organization also provides mentorship to these students.

Those that are part of the foundation are the ones that will be benefiting from the free rides, thanks to Jordan’s partnership, and fans are proud of the actor for using his platform for good. Former NBA star Dwyane Wade also recently announced his partnership with LyftUp to provide free rides to the polls to students from select HBCUs.

Free rides on Election Day is another one of LyftUp’s programs, along with rides to and from grocery stores, farmer’s markets, food pantries, and SNAP benefits appointments to give people access to food. LeBron James has also partnered with the program to provide bike-share access at a reduced cost.
It’s great that LyftUp and celebrities like Jordan are using their money and resources to help those who need it most. Be sure to visit LyftUp’s site to see how you can donate to the cause and see if the LyftUp programs are available to those in your area.
