The third Deadpool film is officially in the works at Marvel Studios, and not only is Ryan Reynolds reprising his role as Deadpool, but he’s also getting Wendy Molyneux and Lizzie Molyneux-Loeglin to write the screenplay.

Reynolds has reportedly brought on the TV producing sisters that are known for writing Bob’s Burgers to write the screenplay for Deadpool 3. The first action-comedy film in the series came out in 2016, and the second in 2018. Now, Reynolds will star once again as the sarcastic, witty, and unconventional superhero that we all know and love.

Reportedly, Reynolds and others involved in the project had been meeting with writers throughout this month to hear their interpretations of the Deadpool story, but ultimately chose to ask the Molyneux sisters to write the next installment. The films revolves around the Marvel Comics character of the same name and will be R-rated as the previous two films were.

Deadpool 3 will also have a new director, David Leitch, and will be the first Deadpool film to be made after the Disney/20th Century Fox merger (the previous films were produced and distributed solely by Fox). The first film was written by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, and the second by the duo and lead actor, Reynolds. The film is still early in development, but fans are excited nonetheless.

We cannot wait to see what Reynolds and the Molyneux sisters have in store for Deadpool’s newest adventure, but it will no doubt be filled with comedy gold.
