SM Entertainment Reveals Red Velvet’s Wendy Will Make Solo Debut in April
The lead vocalist from SM Entertainment k-pop girl group Red Velvet, Wendy, is preparing for her official solo debut, which is to be made in April.
The announcement was made on March 10 by SM Entertainment after rumors began circulating. Wendy herself even took to Instagram and Twitter to share the news about her debut with fans. Following the announcement, ‘WENDY SOLO’ began to trend at #2 worldwide on Twitter as her fans, known as reVeluvs, shared their excitement.
After Korean news source STARNEWS reported that the singer will be releasing solo music, a press release from Red Velvet’s label, SM Entertainment confirmed it to be true, “Wendy is working on a solo album aimed for an April release. Please look forward to it.” Though no exact information is available at this time, reVeluvs are spreading their love for Wendy through Twitter. They are sharing excitement for Wendy’s comeback from her one-year hiatus, after being injured during a rehearsal in 2019.

Following the press release, Wendy shared a message in Korean on the band’s official Twitter and Instagram story. The star thanked fans for supporting her and announced that she is working hard on the upcoming album. The tweet has gathered over 32,000 retweets and 84,000 likes. The replies were filled with support from reVeluvs anticipating the debut.
