ENHYPEN Announces April Comeback and New Album ‘BORDER: CARNIVAL’
K-Pop group, ENHYPEN, have announced their first comeback since their debut and the release of new mini-album BORDER: CARNIVAL. ENHYPEN is a part of HYBE, formerly known as Big Hit Entertainment, the label for many artists including BTS, TXT, and SEVENTEEN.
ENHYPEN is a seven-member group comprised of leader Jungwon, Heesung, Jay, Jake, Sunghoon, Sunoo, and Ni-Ki. The group was formed through the survival reality show I-LAND, which aired last summer. The group then made its debut in November 2020 with the release of its first mini-album BORDER: DAY ONE.
The intro, released on April 5, envelops viewers into a dark and eerie setting with castles, bats, and the sounds of chanting vocals. The atmosphere of the video then explodes into a kaleidoscope of color and psychedelics. The world drips and spins around the video’s protagonist with an underlying eeriness lingering in the background.
Throughout the intro, the group sings the phrase, “Yeah, feel like I’m in paradise,” multiple times before member, Jake says: “Purchasing pleasures in selling hours of dross, here in the land of rebel powers gloriously decorated. An invitation calls to us from the carnival of the dazzling night.”
As the track ends, he invites fans to “Come inside the castle. Take everything.”
On April 6, the group released a concept film for the “HYPE version” of the upcoming album. The teaser captures the group at a photoshoot, accompanied by rock instrumentals and red and blue lighting.
The mini-album will be available for purchase in three versions; UP, HYPE, and DOWN. It is scheduled for release on April 26 and can be pre-ordered now.
