Ilia’s New Face Mist Protects Skin From Blue Light
Beauty company Ilia released their new Blue Light Mist which is a three-in-one that protects skin from harmful rays and pollution, moisturizes skin, and sets makeup. The mist has a relaxing lavender fragrance.
Blue light is a high-energy, short-wavelength light that we absorb mostly from the Sun but also from technology screens and indoor lighting. This kind of light is also called High Energy Visible (HEV) light. Allure notes that scientific studies have shown that people spend up to 50% of their lives staring at screens, which a dermatologist noted causes more pigment, redness and swelling effects on the skin.

The important ingredients of the Blue Light Mist include Marine Actives, Mastic, and Tara Extract. Marine Actives include seawater and hydrolyzed algae which helps with hydrating, firming, and protecting the skin from pollution. Mastic smooths and clears skin by minimizing excess oil. Tara Extract improves elasticity to reduce the effects of aging and protect skin from exposure to blue light.
According to an independent consumer-testing panel of 32 women ages 20-60, 97% responded that their skin “felt more refreshed, balanced, and hydrated” and “94% said it felt weightless on the skin.” After using the face mist for one week, 100% of the women said that their skin “felt more hydrated” and “94% said it felt weightless on skin.”
