The star showed some behind-the-scenes pictures on her Instagram story, which fans were quick to screenshot. She took photos of co-star Angus Cloud and crew members, expressing how she had missed them. She wrote, “Just being back here in general…missed it,” and tagged Euphoria.

Zendaya, who rose to fame after playing Rocky Blue on Disney Channel’s Shake it Up, moved audiences when the first season of Euphoria was released in June of 2019. HBO renewed it for a second season just one month after its debut. Her performance as Rue resulted in her first Emmy award last year for Best Lead Actress in a Drama Series.

In her second season as Rue, Zendaya will star alongside Cloud, Hunter Schafer, Sydney Sweeney, Jacob Elordi, and Storm Reid. After a cliffhanger at the end of the first season, Zendaya told InStyle that the writing for the second season was “beautiful.” She also reflected on her character: “I do miss Rue. She’s like my little sister in a lot of ways. And going back to that character is a home base for me.”

Sweeney teased a “crazy storyline” about her character, Cassie, that shocked her when she read the episodes. Further, Creator Sam Levinson told The Hollywood Reporter that “…Rue has a big journey ahead of her” and “…There’s a lot more to delve into and unpack in terms of the effects of addiction on Rue and her family and those around her.”
