‘iCarly’ Is Set to Return in June on Paramount+
On Thursday, May 6, The Wrap reported that according to ViacomCBS CEO Bob Bakish, iCarly will debut in June 2021. Recently, the exciting announcement came from a ViacomCBS first-quarter earnings call. Previously, the iCarly revival was first announced in December 2020, and many fans of the show have been waiting ever since the news dropped.

iCarly is an American teen sitcom that began airing in 2007 and ran until 2012. Ending on a good note, iCarly completed six seasons and has kept viewers feeling nostalgic over the show.

Characters Carly, Freddie, and Spencer, a part of the original cast, will appear on the reboot coming this summer. Back in March, the iCarly crew spoke to Entertainment Tonight in an exclusive interview about the revival. Nathan Kress, the actor who plays Freddie, stated, “The cool part is what makes it different too is we have new characters that are coming.”

While Sam and Gibby’s characters have not been announced to appear, iCarly decided to add new characters. According to Entertainment Tonight, Laci Mosley will play Carly’s best friend, and Jaidyn Triplett will be Freddie’s stepdaughter.

In the ET interview, Miranda Cosgrove, who plays Carly, explained, “It feels kind of crazy. We did the first table read about a week or so ago and it was kind of insane.” The 27-year-old actress continued, “Like, just getting everybody back together again and it was really fun.” Cosgrove ended with, “We served up spaghetti tacos over 10 years ago, and I can’t wait to show you what we’re cooking up next with Nickelodeon for Paramount+!”
