Leonardo DiCaprio Makes Headlines After Photo Release From New Scorsese Movie
Leonardo DiCaprio has been busy filming Killers of the Flower Moon from director Martin Scorsese, as seen in the much-talked about photo from Apple Studios. Meanwhile, fans and publications alike have been commenting on the photo while anticipating a release date for the $200 million movie from Imperative Entertainment.

DiCaprio took to Twitter yesterday to share the photo from Osage News, an Oklahoma-based publication where the movie is being filmed. The still shot shows DiCaprio seated beside co-star and on-screen wife, Gladstone (Billions), at a dimly lit kitchen table. Rustic furniture and floral wallpapers give it a very western feel.

The New York Post shared the same photo, Tweeting that the actor is “unrecognizable” in character. Naturally, fans ridiculed the statement. DiCaprio, 46, is not the same teenage heartthrob that appeared in Titanic or Romeo and Juliet. But to say that the seasoned actor is ‘unrecognizable’ is still a stretch – and fans took notice.

Based on the best-selling nonfiction book by the same name, this western epic is set in 1920s Oklahoma and follows the serial murders of a Native community. Decades after displacement along the Trail of Tears, members of the oil-rich Osage Indian nation face further persecution and death.
DiCaprio stars as Ernest Burkhart – nephew to a powerful rancher (Robert De Niro) who falls in love with local Osage woman Mollie (Lily Gladstone). The film has been praised for casting Gladstone, who herself was raised on the Blackfeet Reservation in Montana and brings an authentic voice to her role.
PHOTOS: Set construction continues for the film, “Killers of the Flower Moon.” In Fairfax, construction continues on a replica of the Catholic Church from the 1920s. Cars from the 1920s were also parked behind the church.

This is not the first time DiCaprio has worked with Scorsese. The actor was Oscar-nominated for his roles in The Aviator and The Wolf of Wall Street. He also starred in Shutter Island and The Departed. So, while this may not be the reason we expected to see DiCaprio trending online, he’s bound to make headlines after thirty years in the industry.
After production postponement due to COVID-19 guidelines, Killers of the Flower Moon began filming April 19. It may be awhile before the movie gets a release date. Until then, check out the best ‘unrecognizable’ memes here.
