Miley Cyrus on New Hollywood Bowl Return,’Everything I’ve Ever Wanted’

Miley Cyrus is officially back where she belongs. After nearly four years away, the singer returned to the live stage on Friday, October 16, for the first of two shows at the Hollywood Bowl, the Los Angeles venue she has loved as a fan her whole life. Inside the Miley Cyrus Hollywood Bowl Comeback

The 33-year-old had been candid that she was not always certain she wanted to keep performing, and the warmth of the night seemed to answer the question for her. Introducing “Something Beautiful,” she opened up about searching for balance. “For me, performance can’t be everything, because the curtain closes and the lights go down and I have to go back home and be happy with who I am,” she told the audience, thanking fans for helping her build a life where she can “really have everything that I ever wanted.” She walked the crowd through new songs from Bass Persuades while reviving the classics the Bowl was aching to hear, among them “The Climb,” “We Can’t Stop,” and “Party in the U.S.A.”

The Surprise Guests Who Stole the Night

Cyrus did not take the stage alone. Flaming Lips frontman Wayne Coyne joined her on a B-stage in the middle of the crowd for “Do You Realize??” and “Karen Don’t Be Sad,” the two sharing a long, tender hug mid-song. Later, during the encore, her fiancé Maxx Morando surprised fans by stepping behind the drums for “Let’s Get Married” and “Flowers,” the couple sealing the moment with a kiss. In a pre-taped opening, Cyrus revealed it was seeing the French band Air at this very venue with Morando in 2025 that inspired the record in the first place. Her second night, on Saturday, October 18, welcomes MODEL/ACTRIZ as the special guest, as NME noted when the two-night run was announced.

A Tender Tribute and a New Chapter

The evening held one especially moving moment, as Cyrus grew emotional remembering her late godmother, Dolly Parton, and performed “Jolene” in her honor, a loving nod from one generation of showwoman to another. The show caps a milestone stretch for the star, who released Bass Persuades, her tenth studio album, on September 18 under simply her first name, Miley. Demand has been staggering, with nearly 1.5 million fans entering the presale queue and setting a record ahead of the run. Overwhelmed by the love from the crowd, Cyrus paused to take it in, telling fans, “it’s a beautiful thing that we share together.” After four years away, that may be the truest headline of all.
