Bon Jovi’s Unexpected Cover of “Watermelon Sugar” Goes Viral

The internet is going crazy, and there’s a good reason why: Bon Jovi unexpectedly performed “Watermelon Sugar” by Harry Styles.

On May 7, Bon Jovi performed some musical hits to help the foundations Meals On Wheels and Project Most hold a fundraiser. The artist not only sang “Watermelon Sugar,” but a collection of his own tunes and covers while interacting with the attendees. Thus, over $50,000 was brought in by the gig, with all profits going towards the organizations.

The popular track “Watermelon Sugar” won British superstar Harry Styles “Best Single” at the Brit Awards 2021 on May 11. This is a well-deserved title as the song has exceeded over 176 million views on YouTube and raised to #1 on the Billboard Top 100. Moreover, this success was unforgettable for Styles and his fans, this being the first time the artist has topped the Billboard charts. 

With such a timeless musician and an iconic track, it was bound to have such a positive reaction from fans across all generations.

Spreading like a wildfire on social media, the clip of Bon Jovi singing “Watermelon Sugar” was captured by an attendee of the event.

Aside from spending his time helping charity, Bon Jovi is scheduled for a virtual, one-day tour in multiple cities across the United States.
