Coachella Prepares for Its Return With 2022 Festival
The Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival announced its 2022 return on June 1 as live music opens up again. Founded in 1999, the festival will resume April 15-17 and April 22-24 in the Colorado Desert.
Coachella made the exciting announcement on Twitter, saying “See you in the desert.” The festival will be held after two years of cancellation due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The lineup for next year’s event has not been announced. However, it is believed to be similar to the 2020 lineups, which included Calvin Harris, Travis Scott, Frank Ocean, Rex Orange County, Lana Del Rey, and Megan Thee Stallion. In regards to COVID-19, Coachella wrote on their website, “We are optimistic and planning for the festival based on nationwide trends of declining COVID-19 cases and increased vaccinations as well as input from local health officials. However, we continue to monitor the situation and will only proceed with the festival if it is safe to do so.”
In line with California mandates, attendees must either be fully vaccinated against the virus or have a negative test 72 hours before attending. Coachella wrote that since the festival isn’t for another year, “It’s too early to tell exactly what precautions will be in place at the festival. However, your health and safety remain our top priority, and we continue to monitor the evolving health regulations and are working closely with state and health officials to develop COVID-19 protocols for the festival.”
