Girls’ Generation Taeyeon Unwinds in New ‘Weekend’ Music Video

South Korean singer Taeyeon dropped a light-hearted music video on July 6 at 6 P.M. KST for her new song “Weekend.” Additionally, the Girls’ Generation member held a broadcast on NAVER V LIVE on the official SMTOWN channel to chat with fans before the music video release.

In Taeyeon’s playful music video, the first scene begins with the singer typing on a keyboard in an office while mouthing the “Weekend” lyrics as it plays in the background. After someone pauses the song on a cassette recorder, Taeyeon is in shock as she finds her co-workers in the office frozen in time. The song officially begins to play and the Girls’ Generation member sings the lyrics, “It’s already 12 o’clock but there isn’t any rush.”

Looking flawless in a pink-themed style, Taeyeon sings the chorus “wanna leave when the weekend comes” while dancing to her new song’s signature dance move. Later on, the singer stretches while sitting on a lounge chair in paradise above pink clouds. The charming music video ends with Taeyeon on an airplane singing, “I’ll just leave to wherever my feet end up.”

After the exciting music video release, many fans took to social media to praise Taeyeon for the song and the music video’s aesthetically pleasing sets.

Before the music video dropped, Taeyeon hosted a broadcast on NAVER V LIVE titled “Weekend: TAEYEON Entertainment 1st Half-Year General Meeting.” Starting at 5 p.m. KST, Taeyeon chatted with fans about song spoilers and revealed her music video had been leaked. Later, on Instagram, the Girls’ Generation singer posted a photo series inside of the room where she live-streamed.
