Peakboy Brings Confident Aura to New Summer Single ‘GYOPO HAIRSTYLE’
Kwon Seonghwan, better known under his stage name Peakboy, released “GYOPO HAIRSTYLE,” a dance-pop song perfect for the summertime.
The singer-producer under Neuron Music, a South Korean-based company, dropped “GYOPO HAIRSTYLE” on July 25 with a music video full of anticipated guests.
Peakboy is part of the high-profile friend group known as “Wooga squad,” consisting of himself, Kim Taehyung of BTS, and actors Park Seo-Joon, Choi Woo-Shik, and Park Hyung-Shik. The meaning behind “Wooga” originates from the Korean phrase “Woori-ga gajok-inga?” which translates literally to “Are we family?” in English.
When speaking on his appreciation for this tight-knit group, the singer recognized the ongoing support from his friends.
The artist had each squad member play parts in the music video, interacting with his character in different scenes. They were placed to make the audience aware of their presence.

Taehyung plays a waiter wearing a purple suit—which fans believe is a symbol of the Bangtan Boys’ trademark color—Park Seo-Joon sits in as a talk-show producer, Park Hyung-Shik as a cafe customer, and Choi Woo-Shik as a photographer.
The song title references “Gyopo,” a Korean slang word used to describe a Korean person living overseas, and the sleek ’90s style haircut Peakboy adorns in the music video is his idea of a Gyopo hairstyle.
Overall, the lyrics relay an upbeat message of living life as your most authentic self because the only person who has to live with you is you.
