Amy Adams Reveals Details of New ‘Enchanted’ Sequel
The princess of Andalasia is back after fourteen years. Amy Adams, 47, will be reclaiming her crown as Princess Giselle in the Enchanted sequel. Adams sat down for an interview on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and shared new details for Disenchanted. She even confirms the cast will return to reprise their roles from the first movie and new faces join the cast.

“We filmed it in Ireland. Everyone is back,” Adams confirmed during the interview, “We also have great additions to the cast. We have Maya Rudolph. She plays the ‘baddie,’ so we get to have a lot of fun together.”

The cast includes Maya Rudolph (Bridesmaids) will be playing the movie’s new villain, Malvina Monroe. Jayma Mays (Glee) will play Ruby and Yvette Nicole Brown (Community) as Rosaleen. Patrick Dempsey (Robert Philip), James Mardsen (Prince Edward), Idina Menzel (Nancy Tremaine), Susan Sarandon (Queen Narissa), and Rachel Covey (Morgan Philip) will reprise their roles.

Like the first movie, there’s lots of singing and dancing. The sequel will be no different.
“There’s a lot more singing and a lot more dancing which was humbling. The last time I really danced as much as I’m required to dance in this, I was in my 20s and now I’m not in my 20s. It feels different in your 40s. In my heart, I look like I’m in my 20s when I’m dancing, and then I would watch playback and be like, ‘Whoa, that’s not the same.’”

The first film followed Giselle, princess of Andalasia, an animated kingdom. She falls in love with Prince Edward and she arrives at the castle to marry him, he’s nowhere in sight. His evil stepmother, Queen Narissa, pushes the young princess into the fountain and winds up in the mysterious world of New York. She meets divorced lawyer Robert Philip as she embarks on an adventure to find love and her way back home.
Disenchanted will follow Giselle ten years later after moving to the suburbs with Robert Philip and his daughter, Morgan. She questions happily ever after and wishes her life was a fairytale. Unbeknownst to Giselle, her wish comes true, plummeting Andalasia into chaos.
The sequel is set to release in 2022 on Disney+. The first Enchanted movie can be streamed on Disney+.
