Yara Shahidi Proves She’s a Beauty With Brains at This Year’s Primetime Emmy Awards
This past Sunday, Yara Shahidi revealed to fans that there is more to her than just her acting career. The Grownish star shared that she had to request to present earlier at this year’s Primetime Emmy Awards in order to make it back home for her evening class at Harvard University.
It’s incredibly clear that Yara Shahidi can be an excellent role model since she clearly has her priorities in check. The 21-year-old not only radiated on the red carpet in a vibrant green gown, but she made sure to still hit the books on time.
According to PEOPLE magazine, upon her acceptance into Harvard back in 2017, Shahidi stated on Jimmy Kimmel Live, “I’ve wanted to be a history professor for longer than I’ve wanted to be an actress and so I used to have the Harvard webpage up, and I’d go through the course catalog. So needless to say, this is something I’ve been planning for a long time.”
She later shared with Hollywood Reporter that aside from the glitz and glamor of Hollywood, she has her sights set on having as much college experience as possible which drove her to start applying.
Additionally, the Black-ish actress stunned in a green vintage 1950’s style gown that gracefully draped off-the-shoulder with tulle sleeves, a classic cinched bodice, and a flared mid-length skirt that stopped above her ankles.
Shahidi’s look was paired with nude-brown Christian Louboutin “So Kate” pumps and eye-catching jewels that included a gorgeous gold neck piece that finished the timeless look.
