Britney Spears to Write Tell-All Memoir in New Book Deal
The princess of pop, Britney Spears, has landed a $15 million book deal in which she will write a tell-all memoir of her life. The deal is declared to be “record-breaking in nature,” stemming from an intense bidding war between numerous publishers with Simon and Schuster as the winner.
The public is eager for Spears to spill all of the tea surrounding her freshly terminated conservatorship, iconic rise to fame, as well as her toxic family dynamic. Jamie Lynn Spears, sister to Britney, recently published a book of her own titled, Things I Should Have Said. Britney has publicly condemned Jamie Lynn for manipulating herself and her situation.

Britney has been in the limelight regarding her controversial conservatorship, originally put into effect by her father in 2008. The conservatorship allowed Jamie Spears (father) and Britney’s management to control her finances and personal decisions, despite the star’s incredulous work ethic. Fans began to speculate that this relationship was against Britney’s will, which led the #FreeBritney movement to spiral across social media.
The movement was successful in forcing pressure onto the court system to reestablish Spears’ freedom. It also helped gain exposure to the abuse that often manifests in conservatorship. Britney spoke to the abuse within her conservatorship, stating, “I’ve been in shock. I am traumatized… I just want my life back.”
