This announcement is especially impressive, considering the fact that the South-Korean girl group hasn’t released any new music since 2020. Never fear, however, as group member Jennie Kim confirmed that a comeback is underway. In a YouTube video with the channel The Game Caterers, the singer revealed, “BLACKPINK is also making a comeback soon. I don’t know if I’m allowed to say this, but since I’m the only [BLACKPINK member] here, I’ll just say it.” She ended her statement with, “Please look forward to it. Thank you very much.” BLACKPINK stans have been sent into a frenzy since this revelation.

While on their nearly two-year hiatus, the girls have kept busy with many endeavors. Jisoo has tried her hand at the acting route after starring in the K-Drama Snowdrop, which is on Disney+. Jennie starred in a campaign for Calvin Klein and Lisa became the global ambassador for MAC Cosmetics. Rose has continued to undertake solo music.

Despite taking a break, the “Sour Candy” singers have refused to leave their devoted fans in the dark and have released their new 2022 Welcoming Collection as a treat. This collection includes a group of items for Blinks to connect with their favorite girl group. It appears to be similar to the last collection they released, which had various things from stickers to a photobook to a calendar.

No word has been said regarding when the singing/dancing powerhouse will release new music, but we can only hope it’ll be soon. In the meantime, be sure to stream their music on Spotify and keep those numbers up.
