The synopsis of Snowdrop from Disney+ goes as such:

In 1987, an injured bloody man jumps into a women’s university dormitory in Seoul. Young-ro, a female university student who falls in love with him at first sight at a previous group blind date, takes care of him despite the strict surveillance and dangerous situation between North and South Korea. Snowdrop analyzes love within a political and socially intense environment during the time of South Korea’s Democratic movement.

While the program has amassed a massive audience since it premiered in Asia in mid-Dec., it has also been criticized for its portrayal of the pivotal historical era.

Korean TV network JTBC responded to the concerns in a statement, saying, “Snowdrop is a creative work that shows the personal stories of individuals who were used and victimized by those in power.”

Regardless of the uproar, Snowdrop was embraced and saw significant success, becoming one of the top five most-watched programs in Asia-Pacific markets on Disney+ within its first five weeks. Fans and BLINKs also showed love for the lead stars on social media, posting many loving tributes to “Haesoo” (Hae-In + Jisoo) in the form of fan cams, screenshots, graphics, and sweet behind-the-scenes photos seen across various social platforms.

Director Jo Hyun-tak said in a statement for Disney+, Snowdrop is a heart-warming fictional melodrama about a young couple in love, and as the story unfolds, find themselves enduring an unbearable pain that one rarely encounters in a lifetime,” he continues, “I hope global audiences find this heartfelt series also gripping and suspenseful as the two come to face their fate.”

Although BLACKPINK is currently on a break as many awaited fans and BLINKs are preparing for their outstanding and dramatic comeback, it’s easy to see the talented and fabulous powerhouse ladies’ endeavors amongst their solo projects.

Jisoo’s debut role in Snowdrop is one of many projects that we are delighted to support and root for, along with the other members of BLACKPINK, which includes Rosé, Jennie, and Lisa (or, should I say, LALISA.)

As we continue to wait for BLACKPINK’s comeback patiently, BLINKs globally are continuing to send their much-needed support and love to our favorite ladies.

We wish Jisoo all the best and the most incredible luck as she continues to astonish BLINKs worldwide.

Snowdrop will be in your area on Disney+ internationally starting Feb. 9.
