Doja Cat and Dolly Parton are collaborating with Taco Bell for Mexican Pizza: The Musical. The virtual musical is inspired by the fan-favorite food option that was discontinued in 2020.

On May 9, Parton took to Instagram to share her exciting new project. The country icon shared a photo of the Taco Bell Musical script’s cover page. The script reads, “Based on the true story of the Internet losing its mind.”

After the beloved dish became unavailable in 2020, fans lost their minds. Doja Cat, a longtime fan of the fast-food chain, began her own campaign advocating for the Mexican Pizza to return to all Taco Bell locations. The Grammy award-winning singer created a jingle on TikTok back in March, and Victor Kunda shared a follow-up video to TikTok, imagining the tune as a musical.

This is not the first time Doja Cat has teamed up with Taco Bell. The “Need To Know” singer was the face of one of Taco Bell’s commercials that aired during Super Bowl LVI’s fourth quarter. She was featured in the “Grande Escape,” which told an “epic story of liberation from conformity and shows Doja Cat alongside others who escape from a clown college in pursuit of discovering Live Más for themselves. It is a depiction of the exhilaration and comfort that comes from honoring and celebrating being different.”

Mexican Pizza: The Musical is described as a “satire about the ‘harrowing’ story of those who fought to bring back the Mexican Pizza” after it was briefly discontinued. Hannah Friedman penned the script with an epic musical score by Grammy award-winning duo Abigail Barlow and Emily Bear. The virtual musical will premiere Thursday, May 26, at 5:00 p.m. (PST) on Taco Bell’s TikTok.
