Get Trapped in The Weeknd’s Twisted Fantasy With New Halloween Horror Night Attraction
Get ready to escape from LA with The Weeknd’s new Halloween Horror Night attraction, “After Hours Nightmare.” The three-part haunted house is based on the After Hours album and short film.
In a new teaser for the attraction, we see the Selfie Queen doing what she does best, taking selfies. While checking one of the photos, she notices something odd in the background: a bandaged Abel wearing a red suit (it is the After Hours attraction, after all.) Quickly, the lights shut off, and the singer and bandaged models chase the Selfie Queen. She then goes on a journey to escape Hollywood and the dangers that come with it.
When developing the attraction, Halloween Horror Nights director Charles Gray took inspiration from The Weeknd’s creativity and conceptualized the attraction based on what went on in the singer’s head to develop After Hours with a horrific twist.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Gray stated, “What came out of it was extracting the nightmares: What would it be like if we were inside his head while he’s creating this album?” When guests walk into the house, they will be met with the lifelike figure of the singer connected to a wired headset. The ideas will be sucked out of his head and appear everywhere you turn, complete with a haunting toad like the one he licked in the “Heartless” video.

There’s no running from the horror in this house as guests will face physical scares like “stuff” grazing your skin and high-powered water and wind, making you feel like you’re being hit with blood. Are you exiting out of the ticket tab yet?
While the “Save Your Tears” singer is extremely busy with his “After Hour Til Dawn” tour and his upcoming HBO series The Idol, there was no way he could pass up this opportunity, calling it “a dream come to life.” He stated, “I feel like my music videos have served as a launching pad for a collaboration like this, and I cannot wait for people to experience this madness!”
The chilling “After Hours Nightmare” attraction opens on September 2 at the Universal Orlando Resort and on September 8 at Universal Hollywood Studio. You can grab your tickets here.
