Get Ready for Joshua Bassett’s New EP Sad Songs In A Hotel Room
It’s time to pull out the Kleenex, ice cream, and cozy blanket for Joshua Basset’s new EP, Sad Songs In A Hotel Room. Bassett is adding to his collection of songs released this year from the EP Crisis/ Secrets/ Set Me Free and his single “Doppelganger.”
The High School Musical: The Musical: The Series actor took to social media and teased fans about the upcoming project. He mentioned that “THE ALBUM…isn’t done yet…BUT Sad Songs In A Hotel Room the EP is coming september 23rd !” The tweet featured the melancholic EP cover showing Bassett on a cluttered bed, writing songs in front of your stereotypical-flowered motel wallpaper.

Fans also got a glimpse into the tracklist. A keychain is sitting on a wooden counter, and the only visible title is his August single, “Smoke Slow.” The other track titles are blurred, making fans guess what’s coming. The spacing on the keychain makes it difficult to tell whether there are six new songs or three; regardless, fans are ready for the EP.

The emerging 21-year-old pop star has had quite the year with his music and the season 3 release of HSMTMTS, where he resumed his leading role as Ricky Bowen. Outside the Disney+ series, Bassett has hit the road for the “Joshua Bassett’s” tour that began last week.
Unfortunately, due to scheduling conflicts, Bassett had to cancel a handful of shows but reassured fans that those shows would be rescheduled for 2023, with larger venues. Could this also mean new music on the setlist? We sure hope so.
