Meet the Artists Who Are One Step Closer to Becoming the New Winner of The Voice
The artists on this season of The Voice have been nothing short of exceptional. With the Knockout Round halfway complete, it’s becoming a tight race as the judges are strategically building their teams and gearing up for the live shows starting on November 14.
This season’s Knockout Round was the series’ first three-way Knockouts in which three artists from each team chose a song to perform, and in the end, each judge could only choose one artist to move forward in the competition. The judges were not allowed to save contestants, but they could steal an eliminated artist from another team.
Check out the artists who survived one of the most competitive rounds and are one step closer to achieving their dream.
Florida native, Omar Jose Cardona’s performance of “Radioactive,” left him as the last one standing on judge John Legend’s team. Getting his start in the church choir, Cardona initially was not interested in performing until auditioning for a school play. Since then, he has hit the ground running as he’s performed in over 20 countries, performed for Disney and Universal Studio Japan, and has sung backup for Jordan Fisher.
Speaking of starting in the church choir, Kate Kalvach was let go from Team Blake but wasn’t gone for long as judge Camila Cabello stole her after her powerful performance of Justin Bieber’s “Anyone.” After meeting her husband, Matt, in college, he’s pushed her to take risks which is why she tried out for The Voice, and at the moment, it’s looking like a risk well worth it.
Also on Team Camila is Georgia native Eric Who. He also got his start through gospel music and performed in churches throughout his town. At 18 years old, he began posting on TikTok and garnered a large following, 2.7 million followers to be exact. His lively performance of Elle King’s “Exes & Ohs” is bound to build his following even more.
Rounding out the second group of Knockout winners is Bryce Leatherwood from Team Blake. While competing on The Voice, Leatherwood is completing his business degree from Georgia Southern University, hoping to manage his career. He got his start by performing in college bars and is still going strong as his shows sell hundreds of tickets within a week. After his smooth performance of “Cold Weather,” there was no way Blake Shelton could let him go.
There are still two more Knockout rounds to go; then the final 16 will vie for your votes during the live shows in hopes of becoming the next champion of The Voice. The Voice airs Mondays and Tuesdays at 8:00 P.M. only on NBC and is available the next day on Peacock
