This announcement comes during what can already be declared a massively successful year for the star. At the beginning of the year, the singer earned her first Oscar nomination for Best Original Song for her song “Lift Me Up” for the Black Panther: Wakanda Forever (2022) soundtrack. She is currently set to perform the song at the upcoming award show. In February, the performer made her return to the stage at the Super Bowl in a gorgeous all-red outfit. During her jaw-dropping performance, she also confirmed her second pregnancy.
Rihanna’s relationship with Puma dates all the way back to 2014, when the design company chose her as their creative director for their sportswear and fitness lines. During her time, she created the Fenty x Puma partnership. The most notable product under her leadership came in 2015 with the release of the thick-sole Puma Creepers. The shoes became an immediate hit for the company’s clientele and fashion enthusiasts alike. In 2016, the shoe won the Footwear News award for Shoe of the Year. The partnership took an extended hiatus in 2018 while Rihanna took on other projects.
In 2018, the A-list superstar debuted her Savage x Fenty lingerie brand. Its fashion shows have been released through Amazon Prime and have been acclaimed for their production and inclusivity. Since it began, Normani and Megan Thee Stallion have both served as brand ambassadors. In 2021, Savage x Fenty became a billion-dollar brand. Then, in 2022, it was announced the company would even open its own stores.
In 2019, the Grammy-award-winning artist launched her own fashion ready-to-wear brand called Fenty. Rihanna maintained complete creative control over the clothing products. Many of its products were inspired by the megastar’s iconic personal style. However, after two years, the company went on pause.
