This past Sunday he attended the Screen Actors Guild Awards, nominated for the award for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Leading Role. Butler lost to The Whale star Brendan Fraser, but his attendance at the award show did not go unnoticed.

Butler made his mark in a different way, through his kind and chivalrous actions toward his fellow actors. A clip went viral of the star helping Sally Field walk to the stage as she was announced as the winner of the Life Achievement Award.

Fans could not help but comment on the sweet moment of connection between the two actors. They also noted his gentlemanly actions, praising him for proving that chivalry is not dead.

Butler also helped the sensational Jennifer Coolidge to the stage. Coolidge’s recent performance in The White Lotus garnered her the award for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Drama Series. When her win was announced, the pair walked hand in hand to the stage before Coolidge made her way up to accept her award.

Butler’s actions further proved to fans his sweet nature and solidified his place in their hearts. Fans couldn’t help but gush over Butler, noting his heart-throb status.

Butler’s help in escorting fellow actors to the stage was not the only attention he received that night. The internet couldn’t help but appreciate this cute moment he and Zendaya shared at the awards. The pair are starring alongside Timothée Chalamet in Dune Part Two, headed to theaters this fall.

Keen-eyed fans noticed Baz Lurhmann, director of Elvis, in the background watching the interaction. One Twitter user joked, “the look in baz’s eye,,,,,oh he’s got something cooking.” Fans are hoping this means a potential collaboration involving all three of them could be in the works.

To watch Butler’s critically acclaimed performance, Elvis is streaming on HBO Max.
