Pete Davidson will return to the Saturday Night Live stage on May 6, almost a year after he left the series cast, to promote his new series Bupkis.

Pete Davidson made a name for himself as a young comic on SNL, starring there for eight seasons (2014-2022). Since joining the series, Davidson has become a celebrity in his own right, starring in the works such as The King of Staten Island, a semi-autobiographical comedy-drama about his life.

Davidson has also made waves for his public relationships with stars. Some of which include Kim Kardashian, Ariana Grande, and Emily Ratajkowski. However, the star himself has expressed confusion about the public’s interest in his dating life.

As first reported by Page 6, Davidson is set to host SNL for the very first time on May 6. According to Page 6, a source close to the star shared, “He’s very excited to go back.[Leaving the series] has been a change of pace for him, but in a good way.” The source added, “Lorne has always been a huge supporter of Pete and his creative vision and Pete thinks the world of Lorne.”

It’s rumored that the star will also be attending the Met Gala just days before his SNL appearance. This is not the first time Davidson has attended the gala. He made his first appearance at the September 2021 gala sporting a Thom Browne dress. Davidson then accompanied Kim Kardashian to the 2022 Met Gala, where she infamously wore Marilyn Manroe’s iconic dress.

Davidson is allegedly coming to the sketch comedy series to promote his upcoming Peacock comedy series Bupkis, which premieres May 4. The series is a fictionalized version of his life growing up on Staten Island.

Davidson wrote, produced, and stars in the series alongside Joe Pesci as his grandfather and Edie Falco as his mother. According to Page 6, the series will feature notable guest stars such as Charlie Day, Al Gore, John Mulaney, and Machine Gun Kelly.

Davidson shared an exclusive cut of the Bupkis trailer on the radio program The Breakfast Club, it is available to watch below.

Fans are excited to see Davidson back on the screen after spending some time out of the spotlight. To watch Saturday Night Live ahead of Davidson’s appearance, all episodes are streaming on Peacock
