Rihanna just made Super Bowl history. She now holds the record for the most-watched performance amassing a record 120 million viewers.

For Rihanna’s first live musical performance in five years, she sure made a comeback. On February 12, she brought the house down at the Super Bowl LVII halftime. She wore a gorgeous, red monochrome Jahleel Weaver outfit that dazzled everyone watching.

Originally, Nielsen reported the star’s halftime event drew in 118.7 million viewers. Following a revised report, it is now confirmed the performance attracted 121.017 million viewers. This means Rihanna now has the most-watched Super Bowl halftime performance in history, surpassing Katy Perry’s 2015 performance which had 121 million viewers.

It is certainly no surprise that Rihanna’s performance was so massively successful. It came after a long hiatus from the music industry, where she had not released new music or performed live in years. She broke the news on Instagram, and it received immense attention and buzz, with many proclaiming it would be the best halftime prior to its debut. Her post alone amassed over 7 million likes.

During her 13-minute spectacle, she made a lot of headlines. No one could forget how she confirmed her second pregnancy. The news became a trending topic, with many swarming to social media to celebrate.

Also, embracing her business side, the multi-talented artist of course had to feature Fenty Beauty in her performance. Halfway through, she took the time to touch up her makeup with the brand’s Invisimatte Setting + Blotting Powder.

Many celebrities showed their anticipation for Rihanna to take the stage. Famously revealed in a tweet, Adele told fans at a Las Vegas concert that she would only be going to the Super Bowl “just to see Rihanna.” Celebrities such as Cara Delevingne showed excitement by wearing a shirt that stated, “Rihanna Concert Interrupted By A Football Game, Weird but Whatever.”

Rihanna gave the performance of a lifetime. She truly delivered a night to remember. She has also been hitting the news for her announcement that she would be partnering with Puma again for another collaboration and that she has joined the new Smurf movie. While Rihanna fans wait for more information on these projects, they can stay up to date on Rihanna-centric news here.
