Rumors surrounding the next James Bond recently came into play. This would end the long-awaited casting for the seventh actor to take over the iconic role since 1962.

Despite rumors circling, Aaron Taylor-Johnson has not been offered the role of James Bond quite yet, a knowledgeable source tells E! News. Daniel Craig has portrayed James Bond for 15 years, and after his exit from the team in 2021, the search for someone to take over began.

Nonetheless, that doesn’t mean he would decline the opportunity to depict the renowned character if it were to arise in the future.

Last year, Taylor-Johnson didn’t confirm he was in talks for the character, but he didn’t exactly deny the claims either. “It’s not really for me to say anything,” he told a source when pressed on the topic in an August profile. “I just focus on the things I can have my hands [on] right now. What’s in front of me right now,” he mentioned.

On X, fans seem to have mixed feelings. Some think that Taylor-Johnson will be the funniest James Bond ever, while others think he is unfit for the role.

The quest to find the next 007 has been one hard ride, with some strong candidates in the mix. Other actors like Idris Elba, Tom Hardy, and Henry Cavill have also been considered as potential new leads.

Taylor-Johnson is best known for his role as Pietro Maximoff in Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015). His latest film was Bullet Train with Brad Pitt.

The British actor will appear in three new films: The Fall Guy, Nosferatu, and Kraven the Hunter, the fifth film in Sony’s Spider-Man Universe. So, it’s safe to say he is quite busy. Perhaps he will soon be adding even more to his acting career.
