15 Year Anniversary Of Hannah Montana: The Movie
Hannah Montana: The Movie was released in theaters in April 2009, marking its 15-year anniversary. The film earned 155.5 million dollars at the box office.
15 years later, the film still has a large fanbase, not only because of its star, Miley Cyrus but also because it marked the childhood of a whole generation.
“As Hannah Montana’s popularity begins to take over her life, Miley Stewart, on the urging of her father, takes a trip to her hometown of Crowley Corners, Tennessee, to get some perspective on what matters in life the most,” states the film’s IMDb summary.

Furthermore, Miley Cyrus took over the world with the role of Hannah Montana. However, the star was only 13 years old when the series was first released. The series ended in 2011 when Cyrus was 18, and the film was released when she was 16.
Additionally, the film features 20-year-old Taylor Swift performing the single “Crazier.” Swift also created the film’s main song, “You’ll Always Find Your Way Back Home,” performed by Miley Cyrus. In 2009, Swift made her Grammy debut as a performer, singing the single “Fifteen” alongside Miley Cyrus.

Tyra Banks is another celebrity featured in the film. In one of the first scenes, Montana fights Bank’s character for a pair of boots on sale.
The film, directed by Peter Chelsom, was a box office success. It gained 155.5 million dollars worldwide, against its 30 million dollar budget. The budget for the film is high compared to the budget for other Disney Channel films at the time. For example, High School Musical 3 had the highest budget of the trilogy at 11 million dollars, and The Lizzie McGuire Movie had a budget of 17 million dollars.
None of the main cast, including Cyrus, celebrated the anniversary, but on Instagram, Disney Channel, and Disney+ accounts made a post announcing the 15-year mark.
The cast includes Miley Cyrus’ on and off-screen dad, Billy Ray Cyrus, Emily Osment, Jason Earles, Lucas Till, Melora Hardin, Moises Arias, and Michel Musso.
