On May 13, Netflix unveiled the six modern songs slated for instrumental reinterpretation, each paired with its respective episode. The list for Part 1 of Bridgerton season 3 includes:
First episode: “abcdefu” (GAYLE) performed by Vitula.
Second episode: “Dynamite” (BTS) performed by Vitamin String Quartet and “Jealous” (Nick Jonas) performed by Shimmer.
Third episode: “Cheap Thrills” (Sia) performed by Vitamin String Quartet and “Happier Than Ever” (Billie Eilish) performed by Vitamin String Quartet.
Fourth episode: “Snow on the Beach” (Taylor Swift and Lana Del Rey) performed by Atwood Quartet and “Give Me Everything” (Pitbull) performed by Archer Marsh.
Justin Kamps, the series’ music supervisor, purposefully handpicked each song to complement the themes of every episode. He states, “Sometimes initially it’s about what matches the choreography, and then later it’s about what matches the scene and the emotion.” Kamps continues, “We have a lot of covers that aren’t necessarily part of ball sequences this year, and it’s because we found some cute places to insert something that can play as a fun cover [but] doesn’t necessarily have to be attached to a dance sequence.”
Besides the covers, the hit series also announced it will feature its first original song for Part 2 of Bridgerton season 3. Titled “All I Want,” the song was “written by nine-time Grammy nominee Rogét Chahayed, Wesley Singerman, Taylor Dexter, and Nicole Cohen.” Tori Kelly had previously sung the piece at the world premiere in New York City on May 13. Furthermore, the orchestral version of the song, composed by Kris Bowers, will debut in Part 2 of the franchise on June 13.
