The official trailer for season 3 of Bridgerton, starring Nicola Coughlan and Luke Newton, has been released. The third season will premiere on May 16.

The Netflix regency romance will return to our screens next month, with a focus on a different Bridgerton sibling, Colin Bridgerton. It will follow his blossoming relationship with Penelope Featherington, and her secret identity known as Lady Whistledown which was revealed in the season 1 finale.

We have been receiving first-look photos, teases, and even episode titles of the new season over the past couple of months. However, the day fans have been waiting for has finally arrived, Netflix just released the official trailer. It gives us an exciting glimpse at the characters and what we can expect the storyline to be like this time around.

The trailer begins with Featherington returning as Lady Whistledown, the anonymous writer and main source of gossip in her town. Previous romantic couples from the first two seasons and some new faces appeared on screen including Anthony Bridgerton (Jonathan Bailey) and his wife Kate Sharma(Simone Ashley), along with Eloise Bridgerton (Claudia Jessie) who she is no longer friends with after finding out her identity as Lady Whistledown. Featherington states “I cannot live at home any longer. I must take a husband.”

The season will follow Bridgerton and Featherington’s growing friendship as he helps her search for a suitor. But, as she is seen talking to different men throughout the trailer including Lord Debling, a new suitor, Bridgerton appears jealous, with her catching his eye at every moment they are near each other. After he sees her in a stunning green dress at a ball, he asks his mother, “Do you believe the best foundation for love is friendship?”

The trailer ends with Bridgerton and Featherington finding each other in the romantic nightly setting of the courtyard, as they stare into each other’s eyes. So, while there are no scenes that confirm their possible romance, it looks like there will be a budding relationship between the two characters as they realize their affection for one another later in the season. The first two seasons did an incredible job of creating a blossoming romance, so we can assume that season 3 will also do just that.

The season will be split into two parts. The first four episodes will premiere on May 16, with a one-month break in between as the next four will release on June 13.

This is an exciting time for fans as they hope to finally see Featherington receive her happy ending. The release date is still a month away, in the meantime, you can watch the trailer below.
