Ariana Grande confirmed a deluxe version of her most recent album, eternal sunshine, in an interview with Evans Ross Kats on the Shut Up Evan podcast.

Grande shared that time and lots of ideas inspired her to follow through with a deluxe version of the record. She explained, “I just am really tempted to put a creative button on this storytelling, and I have a lot of ideas. And when I have a lot of ideas I just have to follow them.”

However, fans shouldn’t expect it “anytime super soon” because she is still working on the project and navigating promotions for the upcoming Wicked film.

Despite the anticipation from fans to get new music from her, she wants to take the time to make it worth the wait.

During the interview, she expressed, “I don’t just want to slap the music onto what I already think is a perfect version of the album. I think the original album could just be it. So I want to let it live in this current state a little while longer, take my time to execute my vision for this deluxe and make sure that it’s worth the wait, and also as special as I think it can be.”

For now, there is eternal sunshine (slightly deluxe), which was released only three days after the original version. It includes features from Mariah Carey and Troye Sivan and acapella and acoustic versions of songs already on the album.

Grande took to Instagram to post a clip and message celebrating the official four-month anniversary of the album’s release, featuring behind-the-scenes footage of recording the project.

Later in the episode, the singer mentioned that she and her team have also been working on the possibility of a mini-tour. She shared, It would be a really lovely idea to be able to trickle in some shows in between the two Wicked films. I think there’s a version of that that exists. It’s definitely, for a multitude of reasons, not going to be a tour in the way that I used to tour. It would be a mini little sampling of shows.”

While fans are anticipating new music, they also look forward to other content from the star for the rest of the year, like her speculated appearance on Hot Ones. Check out Ariana Grande’s full appearance on Shut Up Evan here.
