Stephen Nedoroscik Makes an Appearance on The Tonight Show
Pommel horse king, Stephen Nedoroscik, rewatched the routine that secured his team a bronze medal on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
On August 13, the 25-year-old bronze medalist looked back on the viral memes from his time at the Paris Olympic Games. Fallon quizzed Nedoroscik, asking if the video of him sleeping before his event was real or not. The gymnast explained that he was competing last in the pommel horse and had to wait over five hours before he performed his routine.
The Olympian explained, “We get there earlier and then warm up and then march out and compete. So, finally, when it got to [pommel] horse, I needed to calm down. So all I’m doing there is I’m tilting my head back and doing my breathing exercises and visualizing a lot — like a hundred times.” His hard work paid off, and during the team all-around Brody Malone, Fred Richard, Asher Hong, and Paul Juda made it to the podium for the first time in sixteen years with a bronze medal.

The world fell in love with the nerdy gymnast who brought his team to victory. A few days later, while competing in the individual event finals, Nedoroscik performed a routine of his life and added another bronze medal to his collection. Three hours after the competition ended, his girlfriend ushered him to check out social media platforms, as he was unaware that he was trending online.
Fans adored the gymnast even more after he posted a photo of himself solving a Rubik’s cube in 9.321 seconds just before his team’s bronze medal win. After discussing his time in Paris, the Olympic medalist impressed the late-night host with another one of his talents. He stunned the crowd with his intense skills, and in just 15.42 seconds he solved the puzzle.

At the end of the interview, Fallon thanked Nedoroscik for coming on the show and smiled as the gymnast kissed one of his bronze medals and waved to the viewers in the stands.
