Selena Gomez Explains Why She Isn’t Releasing New Music Soon
Selena Gomez gave fans an inside scoop regarding the fate of her music career at the Los Angeles premiere for Emilia Pérez.
In an interview with Variety, Gomez spilled the tea to Selenators about whether or not she plans to release new music soon.
“I currently don’t have anything, but I will say music is going to always be a part of me. So I don’t think any movements are happening right now, but it will always be in my life,” the actress stated.
In an interview with Vanity Fair, they asked her about the musical portion of Emilia Pérez. She explained herself, “It’s a vulnerable space. Acting has always been my first love. Music is just a hobby that went out of control. Now it is a part of who I am, so I don’t think I’m going anywhere. I’m just not ready yet.”
She also got candid about her struggle with having children, something she had never mentioned publicly before. She has previously been compared to singer and businesswoman Rihanna due to their similar journeys in diverting their attention from the music industry to their makeup brands, leading them to billionaire status.
“Selena Gomez and Rihanna are two of the most famous and successful women in the world right now. They share many similarities, from topping the Billboard charts to progressing from music and moving into other fields after finding great success,” stated Forbes. “Rihanna and Gomez are not the only two people in the entertainment world to launch makeup brands, but they are among the most successful.”
