The Weeknd is teasing fans for an eventful new year. With multiple upcoming projects, including an album, a tour, and even a film, 2025 will be full of surprises.

A dominant presence in the music industry, The Weeknd is already welcoming the new year with open arms. This year was full of firsts for the artist, from having a sold-out stadium in Brazil to discussing the highs and lows of mental health and teasing his latest album.

He recently took the stage in Los Angeles for an exclusive event with Spotify, unleashing a special event for superfans in the area. The singer is the first artist to have over twenty songs reach the “Billions Club,” one of the highest milestones a song can earn on streaming platforms.

In celebration of his accomplishments from this year, The Weeknd gave fans one more glimpse of his new era before the year ends. While fans already knew his upcoming album Hurry Up Tomorrow would be released in January 2025, he also assured fans there would be even more surprises. Although he made special appearances during concerts, The Weeknd has yet to announce another full-length tour.

His last tour appearance was between 2022 and 2023 when he traveled the world touring different stadiums. Although there are no details surrounding the new tour, fans should expect an even bigger production than previous tours.

In the promotional poster for his newest era, he includes a house behind the words “New Film.” After appearing in HBO’s The Idol, the “Blinding Lights” singer is taking on another role. The film will have the same title as his album Hurry Up Tomorrow, a combination of musical and cinematic elements that combine into the ultimate psychological thriller. Described as an extension of the album, both projects will blend into the final chapter as he says goodbye to his musical persona as The Weeknd.

While no plot details have been revealed, The Weeknd is setting the table for a massive new year. “New Everything” hints at additional sneak peeks of other projects. The countdown begins with his album’s release, Hurry Up Tomorrow, arriving on streaming platforms on January 24, 2025.
