The Weeknd Teases New Album With Announcing Official Title
The Weeknd teases fans by officially announcing the title of his last album under his legendary stage persona before his performance in São Paulo this Saturday.
Last year, The Weeknd was finishing up his global “After Hours Til Dawn” stadium tour. Filled with nostalgia from performing multiple songs from older albums, the singer has now moved onto a new era, a new trilogy. He is set to release his final album under the iconic name The Weeknd. The “Blinding Lights” singer started his career in 2013, releasing his debut album, Kiss Land. Now, the singer has broken numerous records for his pop-synth ’80s-inspired tracks, teasing fans more than ever.
Yesterday, several days before his set performance in São Paulo, The Weeknd announced the official title of the third installment in his latest trilogy. Fans gushed over After Hours and Dawn FM, but the anticipation is building more than ever. Hurry Up Tomorrow is the title of the third album, but could there be a deeper meaning behind a longer title? Some fans are curious that “tomorrow” means he will release the album anytime this week. On the other hand, some fans pointed out his past albums with longer titles, such as Beauty Behind the Madness and My Dear Melancholy.
In addition to the numerous hints The Weeknd has teased throughout this year, the videos and graphics to accompany his new era are cinematic. From 4D characters to fully-built animatronics, the artist invites fans to step into the future. As the new era approaches, The Weeknd has been promoting the album as a mixture of finding your present and future self while grieving past lives. The “afterlife” will also play a major role in rebirth and remembrance in the new era.
From visualizers to an exclusive performance, The Weeknd is coming back in full throttle after an almost three-year hiatus from creating music. With the exception of music produced and released for The Idol, The Weeknd has largely stuck to collaborating with other artists after the January 2022 release of Dawn FM.
