Charli xcx is asking brands to donate unused clothing to help out victims of the LA fires
The pop singer entered the mainstream with her sixth studio album Brat. As a result, the “B2b” singer has had successful arena tours, including a co-healding tour with Troye Sivan.
The LA Wildfires started on January 7 claiming 27 lives. 180,000 residents had to evacuate their homes and there are over 13,400 structures that have damages.
The “Von Dutch” singer took to Instagram and expressed, “As a person in the public eye i am often being sent clothes and other things by brands wanting to gift me something. This is very kind and sweet but i want to encourage brands to give to people who really truly need it. Any brands reading this please donate to those who have been tragically affected by these horrific LA fires.”
The pop star also provided a donation resource for brands to send their clothing including baby items, tops, jackets, pants, inclusive sizing, and more. The “Brat” singer is also donating to this clothing drive as well. Stylist Lana Jay Lackey organizes the clothing drive.
The “365” singer lives in Los Angeles part-time and it is not known if her home was affected by the fires. 153,000 people have been put under evacuation orders and 13 people remain missing. Nonprofit organizations have been helping those affected by the fires by providing clothing, bottled water, makes, formula, and other supplies.
